Posted July 26, 2007 Comments(0) Not sure what happened, but Myspace just deleted a bunch of accounts - including mine. 
I got a message earlier today saying I’d been phished (which I am VERY sure I hadn’t, I’m uber-careful!) and then about an hour ago, it’s gone.
I can still log in but I get a ton of error messages and I can’t do anything. Also, when I go to my account’s public profile, it says “invalid ID”. I noticed that a lot of musicians’ accounts are gone, too - even musicians on the Myspace Top Artists List. Maybe they were targeting big profiles? :/

Swedish Woman has Fastest Residential Internet Connection in the World
Posted July 25, 2007 Comments(0) Yesterday I told you that forums are your friend. Today I’m gonna prove it. :D I picked up this little piece of weird and wonderful news at eWealth.
She is a latecomer to the information superhighway, but 75-year-old Sigbritt Lothberg is now cruising the Internet with a dizzying speed. Lothberg’s 40 gigabits-per-second fiber-optic connection in Karlstad is believed to be the fastest residential uplink in the world, Karlstad city officials said.
In less than 2 seconds, Lothberg can download a full-length movie on her home computer — many thousand times faster than most residential connections, said Hafsteinn Jonsson, head of the Karlstad city network unit.
Jonsson and Lothberg’s son, Peter, worked together to install the connection.
The speed is reached using a new modulation technique that allows the sending of data between two routers placed up to 1,240 miles apart, without any transponders in between, Jonsson said.
“We wanted to show that that there are no limitations to Internet speed,” he said.
Peter Lothberg, who is a networking expert, said he wanted to demonstrate the new technology while providing a computer link for his mother.
“She’s a brand-new Internet user,” Lothberg said by phone from California, where he lives. “She didn’t even have a computer before.”
His mother isn’t exactly making the most of her high-speed connection. She only uses it to read Web-based newspapers.
I think the fact that I actually got a physical sensation of jealousy when I read about her connection just goes to show that I should change the name of this website to InternetMarketingGEEK.com. 
But it DID give me the idea to compile a list of “You might be an Internet Marketer if…” Jeff Foxworthy-style jokes. Look for that coming soon to a blog posting near you!

Forums are your Friend!
Posted July 24, 2007 Comments(2) Is there a better friend you can have in Internet Marketing than forums? (Well, aside from my blog, of course…! :D)
Let’s take a look at the evidence. Forums are a friend that…
- gives freely of advice and valuable information
- never expects anything in return
- if you do offer a gift of your own information, is exceedingly appreciative!
- will teach you everything you need to know to change your life drastically, if only you take the time to listen.
Nope, I don’t think you could find a better friend than an amazing forum on your journey to Internet Marketing Independence.
A couple of my favorites are eWealth and The Warrior Forum.

Facebook Offered 6 Billion!
Posted July 21, 2007 Comments(1) This isn’t really cutting edge current news, as it happened last week, but I thought that it was an interesting commentary to point out about social networking.
For you marketers out there who poo-poo utilizing social networking or Web 2.0 sites as a viable traffic/visibility strategy, consider that -
- Newscorp bought Myspace for $585 million (amid industry speculation that the number was too low!)
- Google bought YouTube for 1.6 billion
- Now Microsoft has offered Facebook 6 billion…and they’ve turned it down!
Hmmmmm…think these big corporations might be seeing value where you’re not?

Landing Page Quiz Maker - Another Great Free Tool!
Posted July 18, 2007 Comments(3) This is a really cool tool - rather than a static landing page, it allows you to create a fun quiz that is applicable to your niche. You define the questions and you define the analysis.
What makes it a landing page (or a squeeze page, if you will…) is that, after filling out their answers to the quiz, your prospect needs to enter their name and email address to have the results emailed to them. However, we know that the further invested a person is into a process the more likely they are to go farther (incrementally increasing upsells, anyone???).
I haven’t gotten a chance to try it out yet, I only downloaded it today. And while I wouldn’t recommend a product that costs money to you without trying it and loving it myself, I wanted to get the news out to you about this free tool as quickly as possible…even if that means I haven’t implemented it myself yet!
