This element is really tough for people to understand. And I know exactly how they think! When I was told this, I rejected it. Why would I want to do this to myself? It didn't make sense.
But at the end of the day regardless of how much I tried to ignore that truth, it was accurate, my thoughts where the foundation of my anxiety. I experimented with it. The higher I focused my energy on the anxiety the stronger my anxiety attack became. So with the aid of a therapist, I was able to work on my feelings and defeat my anxiety.
It would be a lie to say I'm anxiety free, however I'm much more able to cope with anxiety, I have more coping methods. Dealing with anxiety is now much easier for me.
