This is Derek or known as snakeair online just rambling on about free advertising. I started using free advertising methods when i became interested in the make money online niche along with a few other reason’s why i wanted to earn money online. Being a newbie back in 2003, i had no clue to what the heck i was doing or where i was going to promote stuff. I searched google for free advertising methods and landed on a free advertising forum. Well since i had no cash and a newbie still, i did not want to waste my money so i started posting ads on free advertising forums. A few weeks of posting on some forums, i then recieved some tips from a member on a forum. This guy use’s the same exact advertising methods that i use to this day and i basically learned the ropes in the online world from him. (i do have other advertising secrets i keep to myself though) He was very helpful to me in giving me tips on how to write a headline or how using bold, italic, or different colors in your ads can attract some attention. The other stuff, i just figured out on my own. Did you notice i am using anchor text links instead of posting the full url in public view like some people do when posting affiliate links? The post looks prettier with anchor links now doesn’t it?

Don’t get me started on url shortners, i never click on those links. Could be someone posting a adult link or even a link to a phishing site. (meaning steal personal information from right under your nose)

Now to me, that link looks like it leads to a scam site or some site with a virus. Link does not look professional to me. There are 2 ways you could post an affiliate link in a forum. Keep in mind i am talking about posting affiliate links on free advertising forums in which posting affiliate links is allowed. I do not recommend you post affiliate links on webmaster forums. You will be banned, heck i am a super moderator on a webmaster forum so listen to me on this one guys and girls.

The ways i hide affiliate links from people on free advertising forums is just 2 simple ways. This get’s me a lot of clicks on the links but if i am not promoting a site that converts the visitor, i need to fine tune my advertisement or try another affiliate program. Ok, i can see i am rambling on again and all over the place. Let’s get to the 2 ways i post affiliate links or lets say hide affiliate links in the free advertising forums i use.

If you use that url format the link would look like this http://www.socratestheme.com and you won’t be able to tell this is a affiliate link, not unless you hover your mouse over the link and look over in the corner but most people who are looking for a certain product don’t look for affiliate links, they look for what they are searching for and click on the link. That link looks like i actually own the domain and website. All i have to do is type up a convincing advertisement and use that link i just mentioned and hope i get a sale if my advertisement was good.

2. Well this one is simple. In your advertisement you have typed up for a free advertising forum, just make certain keywords in that post a anchor link. What i would do is just insert some highly searched keywords into the ad (that relate to the product i am promoting) and make 2 or 3 of those keywords a link which is my affiliate link actually.

I am not a famous guru, but a helpful affiliate marketer, forum moderator, blog owner who loves using free advertising methods to get traffic, backlinks and a few sales here and there. I won’t lie to you and say i make $30,000 a month like most people do to try to sell you a product. I don’t scam people and will never toss out B.S. to you. Search the free advertising forums i post on the weekends and read my posts. See how i present the affiliate program with a nice little sales pitch. I know i could make a lot of money if i spent a lot of money on advertising but i like to earn money the hard way by not spending money. Although i invest money in promoting this blog for better search rankings, i promote the affiliate links for free on forums besides posting them on my blog.

Never give up on your dreams to earn some cash online. If you do not make a sale for a few months, don’t packup your bags and quit, just work harder. It may take years to make big bucks online but the long wait will be well worth it and you’ll be a smarter marketer in the end. Perhaps you’ll be the one teaching people who to not make the mistakes that you made.
