I just received an email about this resource this morning from the folks over at NicheADay (a pretty dang amazing free resource itself!).

Article marketing, as many internet marketers know, is a fantastic way to increase your traffic, search engine rankings, and page rank. This new resource, ArticleSense, seems like a great way to get tons of backlinks across many different IPs - I say “seems” only because I haven’t actually had time to test and track it yet. As usual, I would never recommend a paid product to my readership that I haven’t given a thorough testing on my own, but with free products there’s no risk, so I want to give my readers the heads up ASAP.

Basically, the way that it works is that when you submit an article, an original version is posted at the main website and excerpts are posted across a directory of different sites, with links pointing back to the main site. This helps to promote the main article. In addition, your author’s bio box also gets posted across 1/3 of those sites, so you get direct backlinks there.

Another cool little bell and whistle is that you can include Google Video or YouTube code, and it will stay with the article excerpts across the directory.

And when I say she kicks our asses, it’s a helluva beat-down, too. She takes in well over $70,000 a month, and Whateverlife’s traffic level requires seven dedicated servers. SEVEN DEDICATED SERVERS!

*sigh*

I dream of the day that I will require seven dedicated servers.

The awesome thing, though, is that I think we IMers can learn a thing or two from young Ms. Qualls.

First of all, she never went into it to make money. She simply wanted to share her designs. Therefore, she didn’ t create her site with the “How can I set this up to sell something? Where can i put the adsense to get the best CTR?” mentality. She just created a place she loved and people ended up loving to go there.

Secondly, she never got stuck in a label for herself or her site. She created a brand and evolved it, far past myspace layouts now. She has html website builder tutorials, an online magazine, and is soon launching a cell phone wallpaper service (a stroke of absolute freaking genius, IMO).

Way to go, Ashley Qualls! You may not have set out to be an “Internet Marketing Chick”, but you became an FLIPPING AMAZING one!

It’s been a goal of mine for about a year now to learn PHP Coding. I have some OFF THE CHAIN ideas for Wordpress plugins. I don’t want to hire a developer to code them because I don’t want to have to go running back when WP updates.

Not to mention, all the lovliest scripts are programmed in PHP.

So, for the past couple of days, Adsense Channels have not been tracking.  At first, they were not tracking at all, then they started tracking for about 25% of the clicks.

Dammit, Google Adsense, don’t you know what a stats junkie I am?

I NEED MY FIX!

So, ever since the episode of the “Amazing Disappearing and Reappearing Myspace Account“, InternetMarketingChick.com’s myspace account has been acting all wonky.

It would sometimes let me message and comment, sometimes not.  Sometimes let me log in, sometimes not (error messages).  Giving me ghost notifications (new message, new comment, etc.)

Weirdest of all, it keeps sending me email notifications (even though I have them turned off!) that my own profile was requesting to be my friend…that I was, in essence, friend requesting myself.

Well,  my experience and the experience of others I have spoken with is that once a myspace account starts freaking out, there’s no real bringing it back.  Therefore, I have deleted it and am going to start from scratch.

I have a new account…however, I can’t tell you where it is yet because every time I try to set the URL, I get the “Sorry, an unexpected error occurred.” 

*sigh*

GOTTA LOVE THAT MYSPACE! :D

CNN reported yesterday that YouTube plans to roll out semi-unobstrusive overlay ads for the first ten seconds of videos, in the bottom section of videos.

If a user opts to click on the overlay ad, the video they are watching automatically pauses and they are taken to the advertisement.

YouTube has stated that they plan to do a revenue split with the video owners, but they have not said how much the split will be.

THE GOOD - possible revenue stream
THE BAD - probably still pretty obtrusive
THE UGLY - No more streaming youtube videos on myspace, as myspace doesn’t allow videos which incorporate commercial gain for the owner. Revver.com anyone?
