Web 2.0 in Just Under 5 Minutes
There’s an interesting question that’s been bandied about in forums, chat rooms, etc. for that last year or so, and without a truly satisfactory consensus. That question is…
What IS “Web 2.0″ anyway?
I’m certainly not going to be able to give a comprehensive answer to that question here today, but I AM going to post a VERY cool video done by Michael Wesch, Assistant Professor of Cultural Anthropology at Kansas State University, that I think is going to knock your SOCKS off.
It is fun, fast-paced, and (like I said) very cool. At the same time, though…it also kinda blew my mind and made me tear up a bit.
Watch it below and tell me what YOU think!
(here’s a little “viral marketing” tidbit about the power of YouTube, as well…that video has almost 3 million views!)

[...] following video I discovered at InternetMarketingChick.com … A very well-done visual explanation of Web 2.0! As Melanie pointed out on her blog, I think [...]
Great video. Very entertaining. THe fact about web 2.0 is that it is a “marketing term”. It does not denote the second coming of the web as much as the secont comming of connected customers and the defining movement of a clickable culture.
Web 2.0 has been around a long time. Sites like Amazon and ebay are some of the first to use user generated content (a web 2.0 staple) in thier business models.
Many people are confused, thinking that web 2.0 is an application or even a design style when it truly is just a term used to really define a movement by the connected int oa culture of accepting online community.
Great blog by the way. Looking ofrward to reading more.
